The green economy: opportunities and risks for agriculture
Conference as part of the preparations for the Earth Summit 2012 (Rio+20)
In just a few years, the theme of the green economy has become a guiding light in discussions on sustainable development at both the national and international levels. But what does this concept
really mean? And what role will agriculture have and what position should it adopt in a new “green” world?
This conference organised by Swissaid, Biovision and the Centre for Development and Environment of the University of Bern (CDE) will search for answers to these questions. It also aims to inspire thinking and to make useful contributions for the delegation representing Switzerland at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio +20) in June 2012.
