Violence against women - an obstacle to development
Women often do not have the same opportunities for development as men. This is a reality throughout the world. Violence is a factor that impedes the development of the women concerned and of those around them.
This event, which was attended by President of the Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey,was devoted to Swiss and international measures to combat violence against women and children and sexual
violence in conflict situations.
