UN Human Settlements Programme

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UNHABITAT, is based in Nairobi from where it coordinates measures in the area of housing and settlements within the UN system and carries out its own development projects. Included in its activities are improvements in urban infrastructures, living conditions in slum areas and the provision of drinking water, combating homelessness and projects in the sphere of urban governance.
