Dossier: Innovation

Resources are increasingly scarce while the world's population continues to grow, particularly in the developing countries. Africa’s population will double by 2050. The resources that remain need to be used with ever greater efficiency so that more people can have access to health, education, employment and income. Development cooperation is essential in this context. In order to combat poverty cooperation between science and research, an innovative private sector and dynamic civil society organizations is increasingly important. The Swiss Development Cooperation Agency also needs to take an innovative approach to the major challenges.
