International Conference
Within the framework of the International Year for Deserts and Desertification (IYDD), the SDC in partnership with the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat
Desertification (UNCCD) is organising an international conference. International organisations, diplomatic missions, academic institutes and non-governmental organisations working on issues of
environment, development and humanitarian aid, researchers from North and South, and students are invited to the conference.
Objectives of the Conference
- Examine the relationship between agricultural development and land degradation
- Identify favourable legal instruments and clarify responsibilities
- Contribute to the political debate, including within the framework of the United Nations
Convention to Combat Desertification - Bring out priorities for action and research
